Next WiFi
Wi-Fi connection · 2026.08.11 · Google Play · Privacy
Keeps the network traffic of the apps you choose on the Wi-Fi where you started Next WiFi mode. While the mode is on, the chosen apps don’t move to another Wi-Fi or to mobile data, even if Android switches its default connection. Apps you didn’t choose use the internet as usual.
What it does
Choosing apps
Pick one app, several, or all of them. You can search by app name. Then tap “Start Next WiFi mode” to turn it on.
Signal checks and performance mode
It keeps checking signal strength and changes, link speed, response time and loss. When the risk of the connection dropping goes up, it requests the Wi-Fi performance mode your phone supports. It holds back these requests when the battery is low, battery saver is on, or the phone is hot.
If the starting Wi-Fi drops
- The chosen apps stop sending and receiving data.
- You get a notification that the connection dropped.
- You choose whether to end the mode and go back to normal internet, or keep internet blocked for the chosen apps.
Connection status screen
Wi-Fi signal is shown in four levels: Very good, Good, Fair and Poor. You can also see response time, signal loss, connection risk and how they change over time. If the risk rises and then improves, the current status is recalculated.
Ending the mode
When you end the mode, the chosen apps go back to Android’s normal internet connection.
When it helps
Turn it on before opening apps where a connection switch is annoying, such as games or video calls. It’s also useful when you want to save mobile data, or keep chosen apps off roaming data while traveling.
What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t physically boost the Wi-Fi signal. It doesn’t raise antenna power, router signal strength, Wi-Fi range or RSSI.
- It doesn’t guarantee reconnection, low ping or keeping a game session alive.
- Protection doesn’t restart on its own after the starting Wi-Fi drops completely.
Good to know
- Wi-Fi can still drop when there’s no signal or the router disconnects.
- The response time on screen is measured directly over the DNS path provided by the current Wi-Fi. It isn’t a game server ping or a game speed-up result.
- Android asks for VPN permission the first time. While that permission stays, it won’t ask again. It asks again if you remove or turn off the VPN.
- Android runs only one VPN app at a time, so it can’t run alongside another VPN or a VPN-based ad blocker.
- Results vary with the phone, Android version, router and surroundings.
Permissions and data
- It uses Android’s VPN feature to keep only the chosen apps on the Wi-Fi path they started on. This VPN runs on the phone.
- It doesn’t send the chosen apps’ internet traffic to a remote Next WiFi VPN server.
- It doesn’t send traffic content, visited sites, destination addresses, DNS requests or Wi-Fi names to our servers, and doesn’t collect, analyze or store them.
- It doesn’t send the names of installed apps or your chosen app list to a Next WiFi server.
- Google AdMob and Firebase may process information needed for ads and app quality checks.
