Describe the app you want in a chat and AI builds it. When it’s done, it runs right inside BYVE AI. Making apps by describing them in plain words instead of writing code is called vibe coding. You don’t need a PC or developer tools.
What it does
Describe
“Log the water I drink today with a + button, and show how many glasses are left to reach 8 in big numbers.” That’s the kind of thing you write. Before building, it suggests features worth adding, and only the ones you pick go in. You can speak into the microphone instead of typing. If you haven’t decided what to make, start from the category examples on the home screen.
Building and running
The app usually opens in about a minute. You can use other apps while it builds, and with notifications on, you’ll be told when it’s ready. Apps you make open inside BYVE AI, with no store listing or install. You can place the ones you use often on your phone’s home screen.
Phone features your apps can use
Taking photos, reading QR codes, recognizing text in photos, dictation and read-aloud, places and directions on a map, and notifications at set times. Apps can also open Excel or PDF files, show the weather and play YouTube videos.
Changing and going back
If the result isn’t what you expected, say in the chat what to change. “Move the button down and add a monthly total” edits the same app without starting over. The version before each change is kept as a backup, so you can go back. Up to 5 backups are kept per app, 30 in total. You can also save a copy under a new name to try a new version while keeping the original.
Saving and moving
The apps you make and what you entered are stored on your phone. Export an app as a .byve file to keep it in Google Drive or move it to a new phone. Deleted apps go to the trash first and can be restored for 7 days.
Examples of apps people make
To-do lists, household budgets, habit and workout logs, vocabulary and quizzes, reading text from receipts, shop inventory and sales records, staff clock-in records, step logs, mini games.
What it doesn’t do
- There are no in-app purchases.
- Apps you make aren’t published to a store or installed on the phone separately. They run inside BYVE AI.
- There are no accounts or sign-ups.
Good to know
- Each time you create or change an app, 1 token is used.
- Creating, editing and getting tokens from ads need an internet connection. Apps that are already built run offline, except for features that fetch outside information, such as weather or exchange rates.
- You get 2 free tokens when you start. After that, you can get up to 3 more per 24 hours by watching ads in My Page.
- If a request fails because of a server problem, the token is returned.
- If something was inconvenient, or an app you tried to make didn’t work well, please let us know at mark@bymysidelabs.com.
Permissions and data
- When an app you made uses a phone feature such as the camera, it asks for permission first.
- The apps you make and what you entered are stored on your phone. They go to Google Drive only when you export a .byve file yourself.
- When you create or change an app, your request is sent through the BYVE server to outside AI services (such as OpenAI). When you change an app, its current code is sent too. Please don’t include personal or sensitive information.
- Because there are no accounts, records can’t be looked up and deleted by email. Delete the data on your phone yourself from My Page.
